“The Cosmos Creator in a Manger”

Hyatt conceived of his oil painting, The Cosmos Creator in a Manger, after contemplating the genealogy of Joseph according to Matthew and Luke. Joseph, in kingly purple, Mary and the Wise Men are awash in the light of the Infant Jesus. The starry night is a recreation of an image taken by the Hubble telescope, showing the vastness of God’s kingdom.
