CHRISTMAS ART WALK

TWELVE ARTISTS • TWELVE STORES

DECEMBER 12-24, 2015  BARRINGTON, IL

About

December 12-24, 2015

Families are invited to EXPLORE, DISCOVER and WALK through 12 stores following a map through the Village of Barrington on a Christmas Art Walk open December 12-24, 2015.

Each piece tells the story through the actions of the CHARACTERS at that point of the Christmas story and will inspire viewers to remember the TRUE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS. The walk culminates with the giving of the wise men’s gifts, gold, frankincense and myrrh and the meaning each bring to celebrate the gift of Jesus.

The "Gift to Remember," Christmas Art Walk opens to the public with a celebratory meet and greet of the artists and refreshments in the stores on Saturday, December 12, opening day.

People from the community are encouraged to attend their local churches for Christmas services. Churches are invited to choose a scheduled time during the Art Walk to have their choirs lead carols in downtown Barrington. Christmas Service times and choir schedules for each participating church will be listed on the website homepage, as they become available.

The highly anticipated walk was featured in the 2013 Nov/Dec article in Quintessential Barrington magazine.

Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Village of Barrington, the Jonahre Foundation presents the GIFT TO REMEMBER Christmas Art Walk 2015. 12 artists have been commissioned from places as far as Africa and Korea to join local artists
in Barrington to create a truly international reflection of the Christmas story.
